Port of Aalborg is in full swing with a major expansion of the port’s rail facilities, adding a 43,000-square-metre new rail terminal at the East Port. The first phase of this expansion is now finished and ready for use.
An extra weekly freight train departure from the port of Aalborg
Recent years’ positive trend in rail transport to and from the port of Aalborg continues, and, as a consequence, weekly departures from Port of Aalborg’s rail terminals have now increased from three to four. This is the second time more departures have been added in the space of just a year.

Growth spurt at Tri Trail Trucking leads to a need for bigger facilities
In 2010, Tri Trail Trucking moved to Rørdalsvej at the East Port, and the haulage firm continues to flourish here. The company is growing, and they need more space for their administration. They are therefore in the throes of a major renovation which will double their office facilities.
Aarsleff Rail leases a large plot of land at Port of Aalborg to serve rail projects in northern Jutland
Rail contractor Aarsleff Rail has several major projects in North Jutland. To provide for these, the company has recently signed an agreement with Port of Aalborg to lease 11,000 square metres of land at the East Port’s multiterminal for storage of track ballast and non-cohesive soil and for processing of recyclable materials.
Railway news: Direct rail connection from Italy to Aalborg with ColliCare Logistics
Port of Aalborg has entered into a collaboration with ColliCare Logistics to ensure a future direct daily connection from Italy to Aalborg via the railway. This is yet another step in Port of Aalborg’s massive investment in the railway.
